Photonics advancements in time-domain diffuse imaging: towards hand-held and wearable devices

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The physics and technology requirements towards time-domain diffuse optics devices integrated onto the probe are presented, together with initial achievements on pulsed Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs), Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPADs), and Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs).
