Abstract

Usually, the optical performance of intraocular lenses (IOLs) is investigated using in vitro measurements [1] or patients follow-up after IOL implantation [2]. In this study, we evaluated the optical performance of multifocal IOLs (MIOLs) by means of a new optical system: similar to an astronomical telescope, images produced by IOLs can be projected into the eye. This system gives a subjective impression of the actual visual perception through IOLs.
