Abstract
It has been known for years that there are post-operative changes in corneal curvature following cataract surgery. This is due to flattening of the corneal meridian at right angles to the incision. Usually, the incision is made above the cornea, and hence there is a post-operative flattening of the vertical meridian with resultant induced astigmatism. This is an integral element in the refractive correction of the pseudophake.
