Acoustic Detection of Magnetic Resonance

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

A simple device allowing the detection of acoustically magnetic resonance phenomena in conventional CW-spectrometers using field modulation is described. Results obtained with this technique are compared with conventional detection methods. Modulation frequency and amplitude data, as well as the dependence of the signal on thermal properties of the sample and the coupling gas, are discussed. It is shown that signal intensities reflect the detection scheme much more than the spectral characteristics caused mainly by the excitation mechanism.
