Abstract

We show that the 1D self-trapping in photorefractive crystals like Barium-Calcium-Titanate (BCT) can be used for the homogenisation (smoothing) of laser beam profiles in a dimension parallel to the c-axis. The experiments are carried out for a light power up to 5 mW in the visible range. One can reduce the spatial deviation of a smoothed beam profile from the Gauss fit distribution down to 0.1% with regard to an initial value of 30%.
