Abstract

We measured directly the bulk photovoltaic current related with the small polarons by applying a DC field along the z-axis of the samples in series of LiTaO3 crystal with different compositions and doped with different Mg concentrations, where an UV laser of 350 nm is used to excite small polarons and a green laser of 514 nm is used to probe the bulk photovoltaic current. The dependences of bulk photovoltaic current on the intensities of UV beam, the crystal compositions and the Mg concentration were investigated, and the photovoltaic coefficient of small polarons was estimated.
