Abstract

Modem multi-wavelength Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) are capable of measuring chromatic dispersion of installed links. This paper describes the sources of uncertainty associated with this measurement along with techniques to assess each contribution. The potential accuracy based on the assessment of one four wavelength OTDR is calculated.
