Abstract
A novel time-division photonic switch architecture is demonstrated. In the proposed configuration, an optimized number of fiber-optic delay-lines are used as optical memories; the rearrangement of the time slots is performed passively, thus eliminating the need for an active reading gate; and the switch operates asynchronously.
