Characterizations of Erythrocytes from Individuals with Sickle Cell Diseases and Malaria Infection in Tanzania Using a Portable Quantitative Phase Imaging Unit

Abstract

We demonstrate characterization of the erythrocytes obtained from individuals with sickle cell disease and individuals with malaria infection using quantitative phase imaging. Morphological, biochemical, and biophysical properties of individual erythrocytes are systemically investigated.
