Optimizing the synthesis of core/shell structured Au@Cu2S nanocrystals as contrast-enhanced for bioimaging detection

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In this paper, we reported Au@Cu2S nanocrystals in the aqueous phase with a core/shell structured. Formation of these nanocrystals were with an average size of 7 nm. There was a strong absorption in near-infrared (NIR) field located at 1296nm , and exhibited low toxicity for in vitro test. Furthermore, we demonstrated that Au@Cu2S nanocrystals could be used for the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) test. It has shown that the OCT Signal increases as the concentration of nanocrystals increases. In this research, we revealed that these core/shell structured nanocrystals along with their low toxicity and biocompatibility could be a valuable tool for current and future contrast-enhanced in vivo studies.
