Non linear absorption in BSO, BGO crystals induced by picosecond pulses

Abstract

High value of non linear absorption is observed in BSO crystals excited by 25 picosecond pulses. The time evolution suggests the existence of a large free carrier absorption and an absorbing level near the conduction band.
