Frequency mixing of photorefractive and ferroelectric gratings in lithium niobate crystals

Abstract

Photorefractive gratings in periodically-poled lithium niobate (PPLN) crystals are investigated. A strong interplay between the index structures and the ferroelectric domain grating is observed. The findings are of importance for applications combining holography and PPLN.
