Silicon Photonics 8×8 Broadband Optical Switch

Abstract

We discuss our recent demonstration of a broadband 8×8 silicon switch that has 8×8 mm2 footprint, ~4 dB on-chip loss, 30~45 dB isolation, <70×mW total power, and future improvement in polarization diversity.
