Network Function Programmability and Software-Defined Synthetic Optical Networks for Data Centres and Future Internet

Abstract

Photonic and Electronic Network Function Programmability (NFP) is proposed to unlock infrastructure and architecture flexibility. A Software Defined Network Synthesis framework based on NFP hardware layers is introduced for both Data Centres and Future Internet.
