Freedom Extension of SOA Placement for Uplink in 100-km Reach 10G-EPON Systems with Two-stage Repeater Amplifiers

Abstract

We experimentally investigate the range of placing SOA for upstream in the 100-km reach 10G-EPON system with two-stage repeater amplifiers. The loss budget is extended from 14-dB to 20-dB by using an assist light.
