Nanophotonic light trapping for single junction and tandem solar cells

Abstract

Light trapping can lead to substantial efficiency increases in solar cells. We experimentally demonstrate efficiency enhancements in tandems via plasmonics, and we show numerically that light trapping can lead to tandem cell efficiencies above 30%.
