Spatial Mode Engineering for Integrated Optics Mach- Zehnder Interferometer

Abstract

We propose a controllable beam splitter with a single unit cell footprint and subsequently realize a Mach-Zehnder interferometer by modulating the spatial structure of bound modes in a photonic bandgap media using a weak perturbation.
