Abstract

This session covers topics relating to business strategy, management techniques, startup issues and the business environment of current interest to the optics and photonics industry. Speakers will share their insights, followed by a panel discussion. Dave Hardwick, of Confluent Photonics, will share his expertise in marketing and managing optics and photonics businesses. Duncan MacVicar, of MacVicar Associates, will share his career experience in running a marketing consulting business in the laser electro-optics industry. Mike Hodges, of MEMX, will provide a unique insider/outsider perspective as a laser industry insider who worked with venture funds and also successfully turned around a number of startup companies. The session speaks to all involved or interested in business, so plan to attend!
