Multi-trench Channel Waveguide for Large-Mode-Area Single-Mode Operation

Abstract

We present a multi-layer channel waveguide design that supports a single-guided mode with large-mode area. Geometrically shaped waveguide with suitable design parameters ensure effective single-mode operation with mode area as large as 100 μm2.
