Abstract

Novel formulation of Fourier Modal Method (FMM) for photonic structures with time-dependent perturbation is developed. It is found that in case of time-dependent perturbation, Bloch modes in the modulation region take the form of mixed harmonic modes. The validity of the proposed FMM is examined by the analysis on the waveguide structure with non-reciprocity induced by time-dependent perturbation.
