Singel molecule fluorescence spectroscopy couples with cell imaging and solid state NMR to reveal the earliest events in Alzheimer's disease

Abstract

The earliest detectable transformation in Alzheimer's is the transition from monomers to oligomers of amyloid beta. We have discovered an aggregation related structural transition that seems to strongly alter the bio-acitivity of this species.
