Optical Band Gap Narrowing and Enhanced Visible Photocatalytic Activity of Rutile TiO2 Microstructures

Abstract

We report optical band gap narrowing (2.5 to 1.63 eV) in Rutile TiO2 microstructures obtained via a novel synthesis scheme. Structure with narrowest bandgap shows high visible photocatalytic activity with rate constant 0.017 min−1.
