Abstract

A novel technique for controlling the chromatic dispersion in gelatin coated chalcogenide-silica few-layer fiber is proposed and empirically investigated. This property is then exploited for four-wave mixing (FWM) based tunable parametric generation over a wide-wavelength range (0.8 to 2.4 µm) simply by varying the ambient humidity under degenerate pumping scheme.
