Porous Multilayer Photonic Band Gap Structure for Optical Sensing

Abstract

An optical device based on photonic band-gap oxide/nitride multilayer films is proposed for realizing a refractive index sensor in visible wavelength region. Proposed design is analyzed using 3D-FDTD simulations and showed a sensitivity of 135nm/RIU.
