Multicomponent breathers in multiple coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system with arbiitrary nonlinearities

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We consider a general integrable multiple coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations with arbitrary nonlinearity coefficients arising in the context of beam propagation in Kerr type media. We construct multicomponent breather solution by using the Hirota’s bilinearization method. By analyzing the solution, we show that the present system admits Akhmediev and Ma breathers for certain choices and they support bright, dark and gray type profile structures. The observed theoretical result will be useful for their experimental realization and possible applications in nonlinear optics.
