Abstract
Although infrared tunable diode lasers have been available for high-resolution spectroscopic investigations of molecular structure for more than a decade, the precision of the spectral frequency scale was not comparable to of other high-resolution methods, such as heterodyne spectroscopy or high-resolution Michelson Interferometry, in which frequency precision of one part in 108 may be achieved.
