Abstract

Solitonic bistability (SB) and solitonic multistability (SM) are predicted in the nonlinear optical waveguide1 and in cavity systems containing the nonlinear media.2,3 The first case, as well as that of the one-photon resonant interaction considered in Ref. 2, required the special view of nonlinearity to obtain the SB regime of soliton propagation. This study is devoted to the first consideration of the two-and. four-photon interaction of ultrashort light pulses (ULP) with the resonant nonlinear media placed in a ring cavity.
