Electronic excitations of internal-charge-transfer nonlinear organic crystals: POM and NPO

Abstract

Organic single crystals with intense internal-charge-transfer1 (ICT) transitions exhibit exceptional nonlinear properties. Conventional molecular engineering approaches predict the optical response of organic crystals from their molecular properties by using the oriented gas approximation, which neglects intermolecular interactions.1
