Abstract

Studies of time-resolved vibrational-vibrational (V-V) energy transfer have been made by measuring the fluorescence at 4.5-4.8 µm from CO2 laser-excited binary mixtures of CO2 or N2O with CS2 or OCS from 240 to 365 K. The P(18) line of the CO2 laser at 9.53 µm pumped N2O from (020) to (001). Single exponential decays were observed for all the CO2-OCS, CO2-CS2 and N2O-OCS samples.
