Abstract
The dynamics of 2-D semiconductor-heterostucture systems in magnetic fields on very short time scales has received little interest until recently.1 Here we report the observation of a transient oscillatory behavior of the magnetoexciton absorption in GaAs heterostructures. We believe that these are absorption quantum beats caused by a coherent superposition of two excited spin-polarized excitons.
