Abstract

We report a linear optical diffraction technique for measuring surface diffusion coefficients, which is non-evasive, has the capability to measure diffusion coefficients as small as 10−16 cm2/s, and is versatile in sensitivity and sample preparation so that one can choose substrate materials on tire basis of the virtues of their properties rather than the applicability of the technique.
