Synchronous picosecond sonoluminescence

Abstract

Sonoluminescence is the phenomenon whereby sound energy spontaneously concentrates by a factor of one trillion to create flashes of light. Although sonoluminescence was discovered over 50 years ago, its dynamical properties have only recently been probed.
