Abstract
Single longitudinal mode laser diodes can be conveniently used in spectroscopy for their easy and fast tuning capability through the injection current. However, the emission frequency (or wavelength) is not linearly related to the injection current I and depends on temperature.1 Therefore, a "frequency- marker" (e.g., a Fabry-Pérot etalon) is usually employed to scale the measurements and have an estimate of the linewidths under investigation.
