Abstract
Using fibers as nonlinear media allows one to observe interesting effects associated with the mutual influence of parametric and Raman processes.1 In previous papers1,2 we have shown experimentally that parametric interaction among pump, Stokes, and anti-Stokes waves can suppress stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in fibers for a single-mode case (when all waves are in the same polarization mode). We have utilized this effect to increase the degree of fiber-grating pulse compression.2
