Abstract

The wide range of potenial applications for compact visible lasers, and blue lasess in particular, has stimulated a major research and development effort in many laboratories aimed at realising such laser sources, Amongst the various approaches being taken, there is general agreement that the primary source of photons will be provided by a semiconductor diode laser.
