Abstract
An essential enhancement of photoinduced second-harmonic-generation (SHG) efficiency and a decrease in the preparation rate at low temperatures in ruby and lead glass were reported in Ref. 1. Classes doped with CdSySej1−x semiconducting micro- crystallites were found to be promising materials for photoinduced SHG,2 It was demonstrated3 that the mechanisms responsible for photoinduced SHG in these glasses are different from those responsible for photoinduced SHG in lead glass.
