Abstract
The system comprising a harmonic oscillator coupled to a two-level system represents one of the fundamental models of quantum-statistical mechanics. In a quantum-optics context this model is generally referred to as the Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM).1 Experimental realization of the JCM with dissipation has been demonstrated in the field of cavity QED, in both the microwave and optical domains.2,3
