Abstract
Two-photon resonant four-wave mixing (TP4WM) is the most useful technique for extending the tunable range to the extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) region. By using a Kr gas jet coupled with two frequency-doubled dye lasers, the tunable range has been extended to wavelengths as short as 72 nm.1 However, if third-order nonlinear conversion is used, there exists a short wavelength limit around 70 nm because the shortest wavelength of the frequency-doubled dye laser is approximately 210 nm.
