Two-photon coherence and symmetry of χ(3) in semiconductors

Abstract

The polarization dependence of degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) in semiconductors provides information about the symmetry of the optically coupled states. Extracting this information, however, requires a realistic and general theoretical model that includes the frequency dispersion as well as the polarization dependence of the bound-electronic χ(3).
