Abstract

C-phycocyanin (C-PC) is one of the pigments in the light-harvesting antennae of photosynthetic algae. This pigment has been intensively investigated by using modern spectroscopic methods.1-4 G-PC has advantages that make it a useful model system for studying basic phenomena of energy migration. It can form monomers, trimers, hexamers, and rods of hexamers, whose spectroscopic properties depend on the aggregation state.
