Self-alignment supramolecule nonlinear optical thin film

Abstract

We report here a new type of self-aligned nonlinear organic material made from supramolecules. The supramoiecule is formed from a guest trapped inside of a host by hydrophobic interaction, Hemicyanine dye, 4 - [4 - (dimethyamino)styryl] -1- alkypyridinium bromide, is chosen for the guest. The amylose is chosen for the host. It is a linear macromolecule and has a helix conformation in DMSO. The cavity of the helix is hydrophobic. The resulting supramoiecule is shown in Fig. 1.
