Abstract

Magnetic properties of thin films are of a sufficient interest due to the ability to demonstrate various magnetic field induced nonlinear-optical effects, such as magnetization induced SHG,1 nonlinear- optical Kerr effect,2 variations of SHG anisotropy in the presence of a magnetic field,3 etc. In this paper we use the method of SHG to study magnetization induced variations of quadratic nonlinear properties of thin films and propose a mechanism of these effects.
