Abstract

We show that a fiber optical parametric amplifier (OPA) can exhibit gain only over a narrow range, which can be shifted by tuning the pump near the zero-dispatch wavelength λ0. This provides a unique combination of tunable filtering and optical gain, which could play a role in optical communication receivers.
