Abstract
Besides the well-known zirconates glasses, fluoroindate glasses are now emerging as promising materials for fibers, fiber lasers, and optical amplifiers. They present low multiphonon emission rates and rare earth ions can be easily incorporated into these compounds. We report spectroscopic studies of Er+3-doped fluoroin- dade and discuss the mechanisms for blue, green, and red upconversion in this material.
