Fluorescence analysis of single organic microcrystals by near-field fluorescence microspectroscopy

Abstract

The nanometer-sized organic crystals have different spectroscopic properties from the bulk materials as the surface contribution or/and the quantum effect are expected. Unfortunately it has been difficult to perform the spectroscopic measurement of individual microcrystals in subwavelength domains. Here we report fluorescence images and spectra of organic microcrystals by using near-field scanning optical microscope.
