Time-resolved x-ray diffraction from laser-irradiated crystals

Abstract

We present first results in an ongoing investigation aimed at observing x-ray radiation from a synchrotron with sub-picosecond time resolution. We aim to implement a switch based on ultrashort pulse laser heating of diffraction crystals.
