Abstract
Thus these materials appear to be well suited to capture the increased bandwidth of current ultrashort laser pulses in THz emission and detection. In this contribution, we demonstrate that dispersion in the optical refractive index may be used to obtain collinear, noncritical phase matching over a broad bandwidth in the THz. This phase-matching procedure allows for generation of wideband THz pulses by optical rectification of an ultrashort laser pulse and for wideband detection by electro-optic sampling of THz radiation.
