Abstract
The discovery of Colossal magneto resistance in doped manganese-oxide perovskites has lead to a resurgence of interest in this class of materials. Besides their technological value, they represent a model system to investigate the relation between electron correlation, local structure, long range order and physical properties. Recent measurements of the temperature dependence of the optical conductivity spectrum in Nd0.3Sr0.7MnO3, were found to agree quite well with model calculations in which double exchange-driven hopping is coupled to dynamic Jahn-Teller polaron.1
