Abstract

As the field of nonlinear optics matures, more attention has been focused on higher-order nonlinear processes. From the perspective of perturbation theory, these can occur either directly or by a cascading of lower order processes. The cascaded process can dominates the direct process provided that the residual phase mismatch is sufficiently low.
