Abstract
Recent pump-probe experiments showing trapping and quasiguiding of a probe pulse in a preformed plasma channel at low gas pressure1 suggests that at higher initial gas pressure, increased laser-plasma interaction could result in self-trapping of the pump pulse itself. The investigation of this self-consistent beam-plasma interaction is reported here. Fig. 1 is the experimental configuration.
